All I can see now are shades of red.
Unable to speak.
Unable to move.
I gasp as I clench my fists and I hide under layers of green.
I keep my words hidden under my tongue while I collect what’s left of me...
Shattered and exposed.
No time to fight, flight, or freeze,
I flirt with the idea of becoming one with the void and dissolve.
Detaching feelings and emotions from self.
Negotiating with the constant lack of safety they allow this body to have.
